Help provide funding for these and other ongoing projects

Building & Grounds – Enhancement of the building, beautification of grounds, fencing and tree preservation on campus.

College Corner – Located in the library, this area offers access to college resource information in the form of videos, catalogs, and college search computer software to students and their parents. This activity is funded and staffed by the PTO.

College Night – Lamar will host over 150 colleges on an evening in October.  This event is funded and staffed by the PTO and available to Lamar and the community.

PTO Press – Listing of Class of 2007 officers and graduates and their honors, scholarships, and college choices.  This publication is mailed to every Lamar family.

School Store – Provides qualified students with transportation allowances, school supplies, testing fees, and other needed expenses.

Student Directory – Prepared and published by the PTO. One copy is distributed free to each student (additional copies $1.00).

Teacher Appreciation and Hospitality – Luncheons and thank you treats for teachers and receptions for special visitors to campus

Teacher Grants - $7,500 budgeted by the PTO for curriculum enrichment during the 2008-2009 year

While PTO dues and donations will fund some of these activities, we are soliciting the community’s help to provide resources for our school. If you, or someone you know, would like to make a designated contribution to the school, please contact Cynthia Lange, PTO President, at lamarhoustonpto@yahoo.com or 713-522-5960, ext. 352.

Ayúdanos a reunir fondos para nuestros proyectos:

Edificio e instalaciones – Mejoras en el edificio, embellecimiento de los jardines y preservación de los árboles de la escuela.

College Corner – Localizada en la biblioteca, ésta área ofrece a los estudiantes y a los padres el acceso a información sobre universidades en videos, catálogos y servicios de investigación por computadora. Esta actividad es subvencionada por PTO y dotada de personal de la misma.

Noche Universitaria – Lamar recibirá a más de 150 universidades en una tarde específica durante el mes de octubre. Este evento ha sido creado y organizado por PTO y para los estudiantes y la comunidad de Lamar.

Prensa de PTO – Las listas de la promoción de 2008, oficiales, graduados y sus respectivos honores, becas y opciones universitarias. Esta publicación se envía por correo a todas las familias de Lamar.

Directorio estudiantil – Ha sido preparado y publicado por PTO. Se distribuye una copia gratuita a cada estudiante (copia adicional $1.00).

Apreciación a los maestros– Se brindan almuerzos y regalitos de agradecimiento a los maestros y recepciones para visitantes especiales en la escuela.

Subvenciones para los maestros – Un total de $7,500 ha sido presupuestado por el PTO durante el año escolar 2008-2009.

Aunque las cuotas y las donaciones financiarán algunas de estas actividades, pedimos a la comunidad que ayude a la escuela con recursos financieros.
