Dear Parents of the Lamar Senior Class of 2009,

For those of you who have already joined our forces, thank you! For those of you who have not yet joined our fundraising efforts, please read on as our children need each and every parent to help in some way.

This mailing is asking you for an indication of your desire to receive future mailings and phone solicitations regarding opportunities for you to become involved. We will be asking you for your help in planning and implementing the Senior Class of 2009 activities through financial support, volunteer time, or both. To be added to the Senior email list, please email your name, student name, email addresses, home address, home phone and cell phone to Lamarclassof2009@aol.com and state your wishes to be included in future emails. Also, please add this email address in your email address book.

Our parent group must reach the following lofty goals by spring 2009:

1. Finance, organize and implement the Senior Class Breakfast

2. Finance, organize and implement the Senior Class Picnic

3. Finance, organize and implement the purchase and distribution of various senior gifts such as Class T- shirts and other goodies.

And most importantly

4. Finance, organize and implement the All Night After Prom Party with anticipated expenses of over

$60,000.00 and hundreds, if not thousands, of volunteer hours.

This party keeps our seniors off the streets and out of trouble in those “wee hours” following the Senior Prom. As attendance cannot be mandatory, the only way to get the children to attend is to make the party glamorous enough to get them there, so much fun they want to stay, and so rewarding at its conclusion that they stay until the bitter end! With this in mind, the decorations will be beautiful, the breakfast sumptuous, and the activity a very exciting casino party culminating in extravagant auction items for which they bid with their “play money” winnings as the last activity of the early morning.
